ACO's new kitchen channel trialled at engine plant

Anglo Holt, the main contractor for Ilmor Engineering's new restaurant in Northampton, has been the first company to test-drive ACO's new stainless steel kitchen channel.

Working to a fast-track building programme for the design and manufacture of Formula One engines for Mercedes Benz, Anglo Holt sought a speedy yet high performance solution for draining bratt pans in the staff kitchen.   Builders merchant E H Smith recommended ACO's new off-the-shelf kitchen channel to prevent the production delay usually associated with a custom-made channel.

Of the six sizes available, the 830 x 430 channel was selected and installed with a vertical outlet and EG 520 eurogully, which easily connected to the existing pipework. With vinyl sheeting being laid to the kitchen channel, groundworkers Mays Contractors also used ACO Fulbora's unique point sealing system, Vinyl Seal(TM), to provide a completely watertight and bacteria-free installation.

Simon Barker, of Anglo Holt, said: "We were impressed with the kitchen channel system. It was a problem-free order and installation and we would use it again in similar applications."

ACO's kitchen channels provide a quick, simple and economic solution to drainage in commercial kitchens, food processing areas, abattoirs and brewing and bottling plants.   They are ideal for draining bratt pans and Bain Marie kettles as they have the capacity to drain up to four litres of waste water per second.
